Richard Jones and youngster Dolly Baloo bag 3rd at Rockingham International Novice Horse Trials

After their top ten finish at Badminton 5*, Team Jones are still on a high with three of their young event horses all performing well recently at Rockingham International Horse Trials.

Star turn was their up-and-coming youngster Dolly Baloo who came 3rd in the Novice class after finishing on her good dressage score. Lady Tattersall also took a top ten place, coming 8th with a good dressage score of 28 but one fence down in the show jumping. Ballyfree Kannalier opened his Team Jones account with a well-deserved second place in the BE100 Open with a faultless round after an excellent dressage score of just 24.

“Just three months to go to Burghley 5* and for Team Jones, the climax of our 2022 eventing season. Next step for Alfie will be Burgham 4* at the end of July and then it’s all systems go for Burghley at the beginning of September,” said Richard.

The team’s young horses are keeping the yard busy while Badminton star Alfies Clover is having some well-deserved rest with light work, gentle hacking and time out at grass, before building his training and fitness back up ahead of his next big test at Burghley in a few months’ time.

Victoria Jones has been bringing on her up-and-coming young dressage string and has a target date of July to debut her talented dressage prospect Dirty Talk. Watch this space.
